Let’s Go On A Road Trip!!

Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do by the ones you did. So Throw off the bowlines, sail away from safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails.

Explore. Dream. Discover – Mark Twain

After celebrating Christmas together, while returning back Charmi asked “What’s our plan this new year”? Usual house party or clubbing? having thought about it for a while, I said “Let’s Go On A Road trip” The glee in her eyes said that her answer was surely yes. I came back to my place all pumped up, started surfing for places where we could possibly go. Amongst all the places I thought a visit to a not so nearby hill station¬†would be perfect to bring in new year’s eve. I called her up and said lets go to “Mahabaleshwar”

Grand Canyon of Maharashtra! ūüėČ

Road trip Essentials Check!

We started our trip at around 6:30 in the morning. Driving on the empty roads (that are usually jam packed during the peak hours) was refreshing. Mumbai mornings are just so serene. After listening to our road trip playlist twice and exhausting all the snacks we bought at the pit stop. I enjoyed driving through Western ghats we finally reached Mahabaleshwar at around 12 in afternoon. We checked in a resort named Dreamland.

We explored the property for rest of the afternoon and we found out that the place totally did justice to its name. The gardens, beautiful cottages, yellow, bright pink & purple flowers with myriad hues greeted us. A pleasant atmosphere for a cozy stay. The best way to explore dreamland is to rent bicycles which are available at the reception. The food served in dreamland is fresh and delicious at the same time. They have their own farm wherein they grow organic vegetables and fruits. After having a filling lunch we decided to explore the local market of Mahabaleshwar. Amidst all the local stores we found a shop named Nayan Arts where you get to see antiques and paintings. You can surely think of buying souvenirs from this shop or something for your home

We ended our night listening to soulful songs & ghazals along with the dinner that was being served poolside. After a long and tiring day this was pretty much needed! Next morning we woke up to an invitation card for our new years party that read..

Theme Party!

This card had actually left us intrigued. We were both excited as well as curious and were looking forward to an amazing night. Entire staff team was busy decorating the pool side area as per the theme and were working hard to actually recreate an evening in paris. The party actually began right in the afternoon where they had organised a scavanger hunt along with other fun games. After having a fun-filled afternoon we headed back to our room for getting ready. We popped up (Champagne) Sparkling wine¬†and celebrated last day of¬†2016. Then headed for the new year’s party all decked up. We were then escorted to the table by one of the staff member which was just next to the pool. We were lucky enough! Drinks and starters were served at the table and the dance floor was open. We had an open bar where we could order cocktails, mocktails and shots. After some drinks it was time for us to hit the dance floor, ready to rock and roll. It was a night to remember with the countdown for New Year. The party got mad after 12 am when the bartenders actually came on the dance floor with tequila bottles and randomly caught everyone. Literally made us¬†drink it until our¬†mouth was full. We danced till the wee hours. This was one of the most memorable new years’s eve party.

Next afternoon we just wanted to relax and what better way to refresh than to get yourself a spa appointment. Swedish massage came to our rescue.

In the evening we decided to have a little adventure as it was our last day so we went Go-Karting and also Ziplined through the hills. The Go-Kart tracks at red-button were a replica of ghats and were exciting enough for the people who are an adventure junkie. We decided to catch the sunset ¬†by the venna lake where we booked a private boat. That is the perfect time to go boating. After the sunset the gaming zone comes to life where there are old school¬†games to keep you entertained and bring back your childhood memories. Afzal’s corn pattice and fresh strawberry cream are a speciality and¬†are yummy!!

While returning back to Mumbai we visited mapro gardens for picking up fresh strawberries and raw honey. Wood fired pizzas at mapro are a must have. We also took a detour for our last go karting session (quick adrenaline rush) and came back with a bag full of memories. That’s about our mini vacation.

So do you want to witness cold crisp morning’s? Then Mahabaleshwar is the place to be. Old world charm plus modernity and natural beauty.

P.S. this blog post is written by a Co-Admin. Hope you all are doing well.

5 Must Do’s In Dubai | A Trip Down Memory Lane

There is nothing quite like Christmas ‚̧

For many people December brings their favourite time of ¬†year, including all the sweet treats and decadent gifts that come alongside this festive season, with the year coming to an end,¬†I reminisce¬†my trip to Dubai back in 2012. It was merry.¬†Christmas holidays are meant for vacations, Dubai being on more than half the world’s travel bucket list. We decided we would embark upon this destination. Now that I’ve started writing about the places I’ve been to.¬†Can‚Äôt afford to miss writing about this trip. Here we go.

Shall we?

We set out on our very first family trip (International) to Dubai. I was pretty pumped about visiting U.A.E. to experience the grandeur of Dubai with it’s iconic Burj Khalifa, Burj Al-Arab, Dubai Mall and the Mall of Emirates. We choose to fly with emirates ¬†ūüėČ ¬†thats when it all started. I decided after my graduation I‚Äôd start working with airlines and I did, changed my mind for good. Learnt a lesson, never do things which make you less happy. Keep finding yourself, never settle.I may have sounded a bit¬†philosophical here but had to include this.

So this holiday season I’ve come up with 5 Must Do’s in Dubai. There are some stops you absolutely can’t miss, especially if you want to feel like an insider and imbibe all that Dubai originally sets out to offer.

5. Join a desert safari :  Safaris begin with 4 wheel drives in the desert. Its a bumpy ride with some adrenaline pumping as you drive over dunes and slide down sandy slopes. Once you have driven through the desert you get to enjoy typical middle eastern feast at a traditional  Bedouin-style camp under the stars with Shisha! Entertainment is provided in the form of falcon flying, camel riding and with a belly dancing show. Theres Tanhoura folkloric dance (Tanoura is skirt, sufi men wear the skirt and spin continuously like the dervish dancers) The long swirling colorful skirts that the men wear make spectacular patterns as they twirl around in circles. After the spinning around the performers show no signs of dizziness? Quite an Arabian adventure!

4. Visit to Dubai marina waterfront : Dubai marina is a district in dubai where you can witness the tallest buildings in the¬†world which are stylishly eye-catching, glitzy and glamorous at the same time. You can take a long walk at the¬†waterfront, at night the streets are beaming with lights, palm trees lit up, theres music playing, with a whole dash of arabic smell in the air. Now¬†you’re in arabia!! ¬†

P.S. Thursday and Friday nights are one of the best here.

3.¬†Global Village :¬†There are a lot of exciting things in Dubai happening all around the year and one thing is for sure. The Global Village is one such cultural extravaganza packed with entertainment, shopping and lots of walking. It has more than twenty five international pavilions, each showcasing a particular country’s products and cultures.¬†There is everything from U.A.E to Africa to India, Pakistan, Vietnam, Singapore, Afghanistan, Egypt, Malaysia, the UK, Spain and so on. Its a shoppers paradise, also you visit so many countries without spending much ūüėČ

2. Take a road trip to Al Ain : Al Ain is one of the greenest city of UAE and its the highest point in the country. Unlike Dubai, Al Ain is a much relaxed city with no skyscrapers hovering above your head. It makes a great picnic spot with barbecue spots, you can also have a mini trek to the mountains. You can goof around and play a little. Theres a zoo located in Al Ain which focuses mainly on wildlife conservation. The hot springs here are known for their therapeutic qualities and the access is free. Rejuvenating ?

Jebel Hafeet Road.

The Dubai Mall : Located in downtown Dubai is the worlds largest mall. There is a list of things you can do at the Dubai mall which does not involve shopping. Yeah thats right.

  • Visit the Iconic Burj Khalifa, for the bird’s eye view of the beautiful city.
  • Dubai Aquarium, you can just sit and gaze through the worlds largest perspex window into the aquarium. It boasts of an underwater tunnel under a huge shark & stingray filled tank, plus a creepy crawly zone with snakes. (Tried none)
  • Ice Rink, its an olympic sized ice rink where you can ice skate your heart out.
  • Cascading Water falls, these human water falls occupy the height of the mall. Its an artistic display with dramatic¬†design.
  • Musical Fountain : Just located outside the tallest Burj Khalifa is a captivating water, music and light spectacle.

There are innumerable places to visit in Dubai. I was in Dubai for 12 days, some places which I visited during my stay include The Atlantis, Dubai creek park, Dubai museum, The JBR Walk, Palm Jumeirah, Mall of the emirates, Old Dubai and the list goes on ūüėõ

Few Arabic words I learnt by¬†travelling in metros, ‘iighlaq al’abwab – Doors closing, fath al’abwab – Doors opening. Lulu (meaning pearl) is a common name here and there are supermarkets named lulu at every corner.

In short Dubai is, you name it and we have it!!

In my next blog I’ll write about Abu-Dhabi which was our next stop after Dubai!

Hope you’ll are having an amazing Christmas!! Sending¬†Love from Eat Travel Repeat ‚̧

Let the spirit of Christmas warm your home with love, joy and peace

Tadoba Andhari Tiger Reserve |Tales Of Tadoba|

Encounter With Tigers?¬†I don’t mean that¬†literally! Seeing that magnificent animal is one helluva experience.¬†Maybe because it was my first time seeing them in their own habitat. Of course the Discovery and Animal planet binge watching was always there!

Tigers! Tigers in¬†Asia¬†are extremely rare and far more secretive. Spotting them is another task, you need to spend plenty of time visiting the most prominent¬†places where they are found quite often, our local guide told us in the evening tigers¬†are spotted near the tadoba lake, we were lucky enough to spot a tigress on the first day of our safari¬†itself.¬†“Maya”, highly¬†renowned with tourists. Most celebrated tigress. Trip to the tiger reserve¬†was a part of my curriculum in the final year of degree college.¬†That point of time when college is nearly over and you part your ways. That happened. But you never seem to forget that one

Tadoba Andhari Tiger Reserve is an infinite treasure trove situated in Chandrapur District in Maharashtra, Central India.¬†Being the¬†largest tiger reserve in Maharashtra, and probably the best sanctuary in india for tiger sightings. Tigers¬†in tadoba¬†are so used to the presence of people that they seem unconcerned by their close proximity. If you get lucky the tiger sightings can be very brief, in our case it lasted for 5-6 minutes and¬†it was “Mayas” prey time with numerous alarm signals “Yelping calls” from monkeys (Grey Langur) and spotted deers (Chital) they make specific sounds,¬†which rise in pitch when in danger.

Spotted deer, Sambar and Wild boar are found in abundance, they are literally present everywhere in the forest, being the easiest prey of the tigers. We also happened to spot some other large animals including Indian Bison (Gaur), a massive bull, a full grown male can weigh upto 1000 kilograms, Golden jackal, Sloth bear, although the chances of spotting a sloth bear is slightly low. They are nocturnal in nature. We were fortunate once again. Also these animals offer good photography potential to the discerning wildlife photographers. Leopard and Jungle cat are hard to spot, there is a fair chance of coming across the rare and declining Dhole (Indian Wild Dog).
The reserve holds a rich selection of avian fauna with migratory birds coming in winters. Black drongo being the highlight.

Mumbai to chandrapur was a 15 hour long train journey, filled with rambling conversations, horror stories at night and speaking your heart out sessions. Long train journeys sometimes can get mundane, but this journey was different. It was buzzing!!

We visited tadoba in mid¬†january, took a stay in youth hostel/dorm, only the students. Our teachers were treated royally with a private guest room. The hostel had bunk beds lined up which were nice and cozy. It was in an area right besides where the ‘man-eater’ leopards were kept. Scary? The same day in the afternoon we kickstarted our expedition with¬†a tiger safari and were given certain instructions.
Camouflage? #Hiss&Fuff
  • Not to wear too flashy clothes.
  • Tourists are not allowed to get down from their jeep at any cost.
  • Do not litter.
  • Stay safe.

We were six of us all stashed in¬†open-topped jeeps to explore the wilderness of tadoba with skilled local guides who are experts on the geography of the park and they have an idea of tiger movements which doesn’t work sometimes. Riding through the endless forest was embracing, quite¬†symbolic, the smell of sweet oxygen, birds singing in choir¬†felt like a big warm welcome to us. After riding around for half an hour or so, our guide found out that there was a tigress spotted in a different location, without any further ado we quickly transported ourselves to that place, already there were dozens of jeep’s waiting to see a glimpse of her! And¬†bam there she was!! Mighty mighty ‘Maya’ walked being the most dominant tigress!!

When a tiger walks, the jungle stands in attention.

Talk about grace

Early morning safaris are recommended, only downside is that it’s super cold¬†in the morning. So much that it makes you numb! But¬†what to¬†expect in middle of the jungle? PS – Make yourself fully covered with wolly clothes (if in morning). These guys in the picture below shared hand gloves and they were¬†frozen¬†in the whole safari. It was funny seeing them do that. Stopped over for breakfast on the top of a hill, we took¬†packed breakfast with us, tigers may think the same ūüėČ

We went on a bird trail/walk to a nearby village. I am not fascinated seeing birds. Ended up clicking some pictures instead. Those bird enthusiasts of our group were more than happy seeing so many different species of birds. We returned after a while, lunch was served in the dining room with typical maharashtrian food, but it failed to satiate my hunger.

Two hours drive from tadoba is Anandwan (Forest of happiness) it is a well developed city with a¬†community rehabilitation centre which was mainly built for leprosy patients and disabled from downtrodden sections of society. The leprosy patients here are self sufficient and the land is maintained by using organic farming techniques. In addition the ashram has various home-based, small-scale industry units run by the residents that generate income to cover additional requirements. They¬†believe in waste recycling and using minimal natural resources. There’s a hospital, an orphanage, school for the blind and deaf. In all it’s a well equipped¬†city.

PS- Make prior bookings for the safari.

Best time to visit – Anytime in winters, summers are unbearable there.

That brought us to our journey’s end¬†with innumerous memories for lifetime. Also college ended soon after that. Writing this post made me nostalgic. It took me back. I hope reading this post reminded you of your last trip you had with your friends in college, irrespective of the place visited.

High resolution pictures are photographed by my lovely friend jenefa ūüôā

Novotel Imagica Experience

¬†“Tis the season”
Hello December ¬†ūüėČ
One day trip to Adlabs Imagica extended to a stay at Novotel? Quite what i was longing for! Right next to Adlabs Imagica is Novotel Imagica. It basically serves as a base camp for everyone to rest & take a delight in both amusement (Adlabs Imagica) & water park (Aqua Imagica). For people coming from Mumbai & Pune, it can be a pleasant (atleast in december) one day trip full of adventure! Just 1-2 hours of long drive.
We were supposed to go lonavla and stay at fariyas resort, on the way we took a pit stop at khopoli,¬†happened to see¬†those huge banners saying “Every adventure needs a basecamp”¬†and quickly agreed to stay at novotel *Imagica tickets being inclusive* ūüėČ Cherry on top! Stacking our bags and quickly perking ourselves up we headed to Imagica *eyayiyayiaa*
Lotus pond.

Imagica being India’s first adventure theme park is always seen buzzing with people even on weekdays. I was visiting imagica for the second time now,¬†pretty excited¬†for Nitro (that massive¬†rollercoster) & Deep space which shoots you to crazy speed in a¬†matter of seconds. I prefer going to these rides¬†than those entertainment shows. In the evening, they have a grand parade¬†wherein all the characters dance around the whole park.¬†B boys show off their¬†moves with unicyclists honing their skills. Unicyclists riding¬†remind me of the video song “Paradise” by Coldplay!¬†The parade was high spirited and it ended with Imagica’s theme song.

Back to the bay, we explored the hotel property. It was quite lit up coz christmas was nearing!!
Indoor swimming pool.
Fairy lights.
Choose to order room service! Who doesn’t love room service?
Room service. You like me fluff pillow? – Anonymous
Wine goes well with this ūüėČ

Next morning, we witnessed some scrumptious breakfast. Classic european breakfast with some indian breakfast varieties. The desserts were exquisite. And now this makes me hungry!! There was a grand parade in the dining area too, characters happily clicked pictures with everyone. Overall it was a good stay at The Novotel. Went there to celebrate parents 24th anniversary.

No justice done.
 Must Go Rides!!
  • Nitro : After all life’s a rollercoaster ride!!
  • Dare to drop : Tiny shot of Adrenaline coming your way.
  • Deep space : Takes you into a space rollercoaster, Jaw dropping.
  • Scream machine : Get onto it!
  • Rajasauras river adventure : Beautifully¬†made jurassic park with a twist in the end. Splash!
Try and plan going on a weekday here, they have pocket friendly discounts. Also do not forget to hydrate yourself enough.

Some pictures from the trip, its been exactly a year now. Longing for a staycation. Toodles! Hop over to eattravelrepeat for more of this!

Coldplay In India|Global Citizen Festival|They Are Sensational|

COLDPLAY is a British rock band, they started out in 1996 with the lead singer, pianist Chris Martin and guitarist Jonny Buckland. Later on Guy Berryman joined the group, Will Champion joined as drummer and backing vocalist, completing the performing line-up.

The members of Coldplay met and became friends while living in the same dormitory at University College London. They formed a band, originally naming themselves ‘Starfish’. When friends of theirs who were playing in a band called Coldplay no longer wanted to use the name, Starfish officially became ‚ÄúColdplay”. The name was taken from a book of poetry called Child‚Äôs Reflections, Coldplay. Chris had wanted to be a musician since the age of eleven. He did his majors in ancient history, but he was more inclined towards Music. Clearly!¬†

So if Coldplay didn’t exist he would have become an ancient history teacher.

Their soulful, intelligent songs have set them apart from pop stars and aggressive rap artists, metal bands. The band rather chooses to promote causes that address world poverty or environmental issues.

Life is beautiful in all it’s colours, even the darker ones, they’re here for a reason – Chris Martin

Guess what he’s singing?!
Call it magic?¬†ūüôā

The band’s first ever show was a joyous performance at the Global Citizen Festival in India. Musical Extravaganza. At around 80,000 people showed up including competition winners, guests, celebrities, certain eminent personalities also marked their presence. It was as star-studded as it could get.

The stellar line up of opening performances included Jay Z and A R. Rahman, Farhan Akhtar with his Rock on (made everyone sing aloud)

Demetria Devonne ‘Demi’ Lovato was dressed in a metallic gold outfit with thigh high boots, took the stage by storm as she performed on her hit numbers, The Vamps‚Äô a british boyband lead singer Bradley Simpson took the whole camera in his hands, live on stage and it was amazing! They sure got the audience groovy! Oh Cecelia!!

I had only dreamt of going to a Coldplay concert but this was a total bolt from the blue! It was surreal! ‘November the 19th‚Äô. I managed to get my tickets to the festival a day before, Global Citizen India had a contest in which people had to tweet, share, pledge for various ‚ÄėActions’ and earn points. The winners were picked on a random basis. No luck there! Neither book my show no!

Coldplay came in at around 8:45 pm and continued until late 10:30pm. An endless stretch of people waited for him to start. Chris martin also seemed overwhelmed to start off, but gave Mumbai all he could. He started off with his most famous-crowd-pleasing ‘Yellow’ followed by ‘Para..para..paradise’, then comes ‘Magic’. Absolute Bliss!! These are some of their evergreens. Extending his thanks to everyone for the love and support. There came ‘Hymn For The Weekend’, it was shot in India, Chris indeed loves india. Then came‘Fix You‘,’The Scientist’, ‘Adventure Of A Lifetime’, After a 5min break Chris introduces the whole band which was quite quirky playing ‚ÄėIn My Place‚Äô, High on music.¬†

He then invited A R. Rahman on stage. They sang ‘Vande Maataram’ together, it was wonderful to hear that! A proud moment. And to add to the night, Chris Martin enthralls all with his own version of bollywood hit ‚ÄėChanaa Mereya‚Äô followed by a starry Sky Full Of Stars. DREAMY RIGHT?

A R. RAHMAN & CHRIS MARTIN. #Duet #Groundbreaking

Although we were in the last zone it was worth the wait and the pocket money spent! I know you all agree with me. Concert shoulder ride anyone?

You don’t know how lovely you are! ūüėČ

Also this surely wasn’t any ordinary charity gig, they gave water for free in such scorching heat. Did a good cause distributing free water. Apart from that the food was little expensive it being a 10 hour long event we had to buy food! Some glitches here and there were expected, but handling 80k people was not a easy job. All hail Mumbai police.

We hope to see coldplay again in india! #OhChris

Now i can say that lifes worth it!! ūüėČ

When in Kasol,The Himalayan Village |Machan|

Nestled in the rustic hills is the charming village of Kasol in Himachal Pradesh, Northern India. It is situated in Parvati valley, comes on the way between Bhuntar to Manikaran. Kasol can be a weekend getaway for people staying in Punjab and Delhi.

Manikaran Sahib is just 6 kms from ‘The Himalayan Village’. It is a huge Gurudwara well known for its hot water springs located within the premises. The devout take a dip in the hot water springs, it is believed to have healing properties. Also the ‚ÄėLangar‚Äô (Free Communal Food) is delicious and wholesome.¬†

So we happened to find this beauty ‚ÄúThe Himalayan Village‚ÄĚ alongside on our way back to Manali from Manikaran. Managed to stop over for brunch. I was quite stunned looking at the architecture of this place , fairy-tale like.¬†

The resort has been built in the ancient Kathkunia style, dry stacking stones and wood which adds to the charm. It is eco-friendly and gives you an insight of local customs and traditions. In late evenings the Pahadi people come together and play their traditional folk music, which is quite soothing to hear, it calms you down. Its a good vibe. Himalayan village has its own deity with a temple dedicated to lord shiva.

Bonfires and barbeques go well together!

What stood out the most was the Machan! Named ‚ÄėLahaul‚Äô & ‚ÄėKullu‚Äô¬†

Machan in all its glory ūüôā

Machans are tree houses which can be of 50-60 feet with exquisite views. It is built around the different cultures of Himachal Pradesh. Machan style cottages are the USP of the resort. To be booked well in advance. Machans were originally used for hunting large animals and now for watching animals in wildlife reserves.

One thing i liked the most was that the resort was pet-friendly. Almost no resorts allow pets. In the backyard they had some dogs lined up. German shepherds and a labrador!

#GermanShepherds #Labrador #DogEnthusiast

The Himalayan Village is a work of art in itself! Truly!

Kasol offers multiple exploring options. You can always ask locals for guidance.

Treks and treads around Kasol include Sar Pass, Yanker Pass, Pin Parbati Pass and Kheerganga and its a base camp. You might need to travel short distances in a jeep or cab to reach the starting point. Otherwise if treks are not your thing then you can have a walk to Chalal, which is just 30 minutes away from Kasol. A casual walk along the village.

A Mini Israel in Himachal Pradesh, visitors from Israel are common in Kasol and one can see the Hebrew language banners throughout the valley. There are plenty of cafes in Kasol where they serve Israeli food, some savouries and Turkish coffee. Local market here has hints of hippie culture. You will definitely sight hippies lazing around. Kasol has been infamous for its prevalent cannabis culture.

It is ideal for vacation if you want to chill in the lap of nature and just unwind. Just be and let go.

Places To Go In And Around Kasol?

Parvati River: Flowing through the Parvati Valley, River Parvati is one of the major attractions in Kasol. Visit to River Parvati is the most relaxing experience in Kasol.

Malana Village: Malana is a small village in Himachal that has self-isolated itself from the rest of the world. They believe that they are descendants of Greek soldiers of Alexanders army. Visitors to Malana village are not allowed to touch the walls, houses or people there. Malala is world famous for its Malana cream.

Lahaul-Spiti Valley: Long lost cousins of Leh-Ladakh.

How to reach: Nearest airport is Bhuntar airport, HRTC Buses available from Delhi and Manali (if on a shoe-string budget)

Best time to visit: Remains pleasant throughout the year.

So Wanderlusting are you?! Have you been to Kasol before?

Could not resist!

So let’s not make that happen. Here are some gift ideas for every occasion!

Replace tea with coffee!

One of the most thoughtful gift for all the techies!

Sula: Finest Vineyard & My First Time There!

One day trips! Hard to find? We plan but never go? You know what we should just go! Planned, unplanned..

“Enjoy the little things in life, for one day you‚Äôll look back and realise they were the big things‚ÄĚ

So ofcourse by the title you know that Sula happened!

Sula Vineyards in Nashik is India’s most famous & most accessible winery. It all began in 1997, when a young, energetic Indian entrepreneur (Rajeev Samant) had a crazy idea of setting up a winery in India.

The winery is open to visitors, who can enjoy a guided tour, tasting sessions & attend Sula Fest which happens in late February. They’ve also done well to break the myth that wine is for the elitist.

We started out from Mumbai early in the morning at around 8 am & reached Nashik after 4 hours being a weekday. It was a long drive despite usual traffic. Greeted by a bright yellow logo of a sun with a twirling moustache at the entrance, we knew we had arrived at our destination.

Quirky Sula Logo!

After reaching the vineyard & clicking pictures we went through the whole property, all excited ready to get ourselves soaked in wine! Not really! We straightaway booked for a guided wine tour + tasting sessions, which took us through the whole process of wine making & the rooms were filled with huge barrels of wine stored in it. (The older the better). They charged 250 bucks for that! Pretty cheap with tasting of six wines. Also we were taught the technique of tasting a wine.

  • Hold the glass by the stem or base of the wine glass.
  • The colour reveals a lot about the age of the wine.¬†
  • Now swirl it in the glass to let some air mix with it.
  • Smell the wine, take a sip and keep it in your mouth for a while and drink it all!
  • This is how wine enthusiasts have their favourite wine. ¬† ¬†¬†

Sula Vineyards has a amphitheatre which is beautifully maintained & this transforms into a lively stage during Sula Fest. The garden area is intricately designed with widespread wooden railings, a lotus pond, bright coloured walls & the natural light does wonders with photos.

For lunch we went to Soma which is a neighbourhood vineyard famous for its Indian Restaurant, it drizzled at that time which made it more pleasant. We tried this drink called ‚ÄėThe Pink Elephant‚Äô which was amaze. Sitting on the first deck overlooking the vineyards was immersive. Further we went to the backwaters which is along Gangapur dam, few minutes from Soma worth visiting.

For your take home memorabilia, Sula has a souvenir shop. They also have a wine shop where one can purchase Sula wines below MRP.

Unfortunately, there was no grape stomping during our visit. The season for stomping is during March. Stomping is done for fun and the grapes you stomp are table grapes & not wine grapes. February is a good time to visit, since Sula organizes their annual Sula Fest. Grape stomping is one of the many things to do at the fest with art, music, dance, food and more WINE!

Overall it was a happy day ūüôā

Update : Next visit up in February. Here are some pictures we clicked. Have a look.

Get fit |For Beginners|

¬†‚ÄúIts easier to stay in shape if you never let yourself get out of shape in the first place‚ÄĚ

A diet should always be something which can be followed throughout your life, crash diet might help you cut down your weight or get you in shape quickly but everything expeditious is temporary. Once you start having junk food you might end up getting out of shape within no time. Try to toss it out.

Few healthy lifestyle hacks!

1.Go for a brisk walk / Run for 15 minutes. Distance yourself.

2.Have atleast 2-3 litres of water daily. Hydrate yourself. It helps boost metabolism.

3.Other thing you can do is cut down sugar from your diet. Healthier substitute is honey. Its a natural energy drink.

4.Exercising daily helps you to kill sugar cravings. Its releases endorphins (feel good chemicals)

*FYI* its scientifically proven.

5.Increase the protein intake. Add cheese / nuts / soy ,lentils to your meal, top it up with veggies. Protein is great for satiety, may help with cravings as well.

6.Have a bowl of salad / fruits daily. Preferably raw.

7.Sleep well. Go ahead, snooze!

8.Rejuvenate yourself, listen to your favourite music, it sure does wonders.
